ACT Companion Dog Club offers classes for all breeds of dogs in behavioural training. These classes will help you understand canine behaviour and will teach you how to train your dog to be a well-behaved companion. The focus at the introductory level is on teaching practical skills such as walking nicely on lead without pulling; to relax and settle; to sit and lie down; to greet people politely; to come when called; to wait for dinner; and to socialise appropriately with dogs and people. The club offers a number of levels in its behavioural training stream to challenge you and your dog.
Dogs may attend behavioural training classes from three months of age provided they have been fully immunised. Older dogs are most welcome.
You will need to ring up to book your dog in to its first class. You should do this several weeks in advance of your desired entry date to ensure that you will get a place. Dates for the next course can be found in the Calendar.
